A Dream Tree, Boston University Installation | 2008

A Dream Tree, is the result of months of conquering Photoshop in the first of many art courses in college. I designed the mural specifically for the Writing Center at Boston University, which had been such a wonderful source of help and inspiration during my career.

I was inspired to find a way to combine the lyricism of writing with the imagery of learning. It was the dreamlike quality of Sylvia Plath’s poem, “Polly’s Tree,” which spoke to me. Coupling her voice with the silhouette of a tree, allowed me to weave art into a tree of knowledge.

Installed in the Writing Center | 3rd floor, 730 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston

I’d like to thank Professor Hugh O’Donnell for his encouragement and support, and Gary D’Ercole from Seaport Graphics for being so helpful throughout the installation process.
